PMS – Functionality

Below is a more detailed description of the modules that PMS consists of, that are outlined in the overview section.

Container Control

Suitable for container terminals handling up to half a million TEU:s per year.

Gate entry and exit processing
Terminal inventory control
Load planning functions for bay vessels
Interface with invoicing systems
EDI messages with shipping lines and other ports
Internet access, e.g customer can ask “What is the status of my shipment?”
Interface with booking system
Various statistics

General Cargo Control in Terminal

Suitable for terminals handling various types of general cargo  and bulk cargo.  

General cargo is traced on B/L level with all its individual items. Bulk cargo is also handled
on B/L level and with information about the various part deleviries e.g. by truck.

Machine Planning

Handles information about the machines used in the terminal.

Resource Planning

This module is a tool for planning machine and human resources to the various operations. A shift is planned based on information about:

Voyage Information
Operations to be done
Resources required
Stoppages
Production
Price/Cost estimate
Standard compositions
Shift schedule

Human Resource

Gives information about human resources available.

General information about an individual
Employment/position
Competence e.g. which types of machines a person can handle
Job description
Courses
Education
Absence
Shifts/working schema
etc.
